Why do you think Tally chose to wear a mask to the party that was deemed "white tie"?
Because she is an ugly not a preety so she has to hide her face because she might get in trouble if anyone finds out an ugly is sneaking into "New Pretty Town"

History of masks:
Humans have used masks for different reasons throughout time, from blending into scenery to standing out from other people. The main concept behind most masks, with the possible exception of funerary masks, is to hide a persons's identity. Masks have been used for religious purposes, for artistic purposes and just for fun purposes.
